Activity 7: Velocity Problem Set

Activity 7.10

Read section 2.2 and 2.3 in the OpenStax Textbook.Remember the definitions of the following terms :
- Average Velocity = Change in Displacement / Time
- Average Speed = Distance Traveled / Time
- Instantaneous Velocity = the Velocity an object has at an instant in time (.ie what a speedometer says)
- Instantaneous Speed = The absolute value of Instantaneous Velocity.

###
Mathematically rearranging the first equation above gives us the following relationships:

- Change in Displacement = Average Velocity X Time

- Time = Change in Displacement / Average Velocity

###
With these relationships in mind complete this Speed Problem Set (ask your teacher for a printed copy).

When done compare your answers against this key .
